Jun Natsukawa
Jun Natsukawa, born September 9, 1983, is a Japanese idol from Tokyo, Japan. In October 2005, she released a music cd titled Himetra Trance in which she covered the theme song from the anime Cat's Eye. She's made an appearance on the Japanese television show Pink no Idenshi, as a schoolgirl who falls in love with her teacher; and as herself on the reality show Geirinji. She's also been featured in a commercial for Kantan Kirei-na Fudeo.
How do I get a girl?
When I walk by a pretty girl, it makes my heart beat run faster.. And I think, 'Will she be the one? I really want to find love...'
Finding love isn't the issue this moment. It's finding the right girl. Honestly, there really isn't a right girl. Well, there is but it's more like girls. Yes, it is possible. Your ex's can be the right girl but that doesn't mean you're lost without them. Go out there and flirt! Places to out and get your 'thang' on are: the mall, the park, chat rooms, fast food restaurants, etc. Pretty much anywhere.
When you start flirting, there are things you should do.
1. Don't ever go up to her girl randomly and say, "Hey, sweet thang." I swear to God, you'd be the stupidest person there. You'd feel stupid too after she laughs at you and walks away or if she gives you a look that says, "What the **** is wrong with your crazy ass?" and inches away from you. Don't ever.
2. If she's with her friends, slyly walk past her, while trying to get her attention, with your head down a bit ( not all the way down because you'll look like you're really shy and depressed. ), glance at her and crookedly grin. I see it all the time and it makes me want to melt. It's ***y and it works all the time.
3. If you don't get her attention, don't walk back and fourth because it'll look like you're trying to to stalk her really badly. Just somehow walk back near her and drop something, and pick it up. It'll possibly get her attention. If she looks at you after the picking up the dropped object, glance up at her, smirk at your success and coolly say, "Hey."
4. If that didn't work, pick a different girl and do the same thing.
5. Once you're somehow in conversation with her, don't say things like, "You're a real ***y chick."
On Maturing and Style, Sixth to Ninth Grade!
Makeup and clothing is an issue for many preteens and teenagers. But its hard to know what to buy and what makeup to wear when the only things you are exposed to are either a few years older, or a few years younger than you. If you are stressing about what you should look like as a newcomer in middle school, or a freshie in high school, here's my guide to help your fasion mature with you throughout middle and high school.
In Sixth grade, it's good to wear lip gloss, some mascara, and maybe a little bit of pale eyeshadow; don't go too heavy or it may look bad. If you want to try out more types of makeup, keep that for experiments at home. As for clothes, keep it in your comfort level. But looking back, keep this in mind: If you are wearing a bra or undershirt of anykind, don't let the straps hang out. It doesn't look cool; it looks sloppy. If you are wearing a short shirt, check in the mirror, relaxed, to see if your stomach hangs out of the bottom. Otherwise, wear something a little bit longer. Also if your pants are likely to slip, try wearing a belt. Belts are totally hip these days! The main thing is try to look neat and clean, because only a few years ago I didn't realized how bad it looked when my pants were falling off my hips and my stomach was hanging out (this happens to anyone!). The main point is to keep the makeup light, and the clothes clean cut. Awesome stores are Limited Too and The Gap and Kid Gap.
As for Seventh grade you are beginning to care a little more what you look like; you might want to try curling your hair a few days a week, and using different hairstyles besides your typical ponytail. If you are acne prone, try foundation. But be careful! Even oily skin can get flaky and that looks horrible with foundation. So try it on weekends first and ask your mother (or someone that uses foundation well) if it looks okay. In Seventh grade you might want to try eyeliner also. But not too much; you don't want to look like a racoon! Start trying to tie outfits together with accessories. In Seventh grade its good to try new things with your makeup and clothes. But when you try the new things, make sure it looks good on you, not just in the picture or at the store. Check out different stores, and try to find out if there is a style that suits you.
In eighth grade you are probably getting pretty good at makeup and you know what you like. If you don't, keep trying and soon you will figure it out. Try establishing your own hair style without looking like everyone else. I'm not saying go get yourself a mohawk, but if everyone has long, layered hair with no bangs, try getting light wispy bangs and a shorter, layered look. You might be wearing tighter jeans now and probably starting to get concerened with impressing the guys, so now its safe to try more mature styles such as a sleek leather blazer, or lower cut necklines. Kohls is a great store for any style, basics or hot new items. Now, even though this is a subject you might want to avoid, eighth grade is when you might want to buy yourself a real bra. The padded kind. If you are content with your sports bra, that is totally OK. But its safe now to check out the actual bra department and wear something that makes you feel pretty, like lace.
Heres the big one, Ninth grade: high school! This is a big transition. Now in the same world as seniors, some voting age, you are going to want to look like the rest of your peers here also. You should by now have your make up and hair styles already. Try to update this look a bit, because no one wants to carry the same look they had in middle school, into high school. Dramatize a detail in your hair. If its known for its left side part, part it even deeper. Make a straight style even sleeker and hip. Learn to make youre curls tighter, or looser. In high school you might want to wear your usual make up during the day, and as you start to go out with friends and boys at night, add a darker shade of eyeliner, or jazz up your lips with something more festive. It's also good to try new shoes, try wearing spikier ankle boots with a pair of hot jeans and a peasant blouse. Chunkier heels aren't as hip as spikes as you get older. Incorporate accessories into your outfit. Buy yourself a bag that's in suede or leather to keep your schoolbooks in, instead of a backpack. You will want to buy yourself a new jacket, and make it your own. Make sure it's warm enough for football games or school events. Since you are in high school you will probably want to buy a school sweatshirt. Good hip stores to try for high school are Wet Seal, and eXpress. If comfort is your thing stick with kohls. If you are more of a punk/glam type of person, try HotTopic. You know what you like, so go out there and find clothes that fit your style, but crank it up a notch for a more mature feel.
Remember, if you are in 7th grade, don't try to skip to the ninth grade style thinking it will be cooler to look mature. It very likely won't; stick with what girls your age are wearing. Also, no matter how old you are the most important thing to do is have fun. Have your whole fashion thing put together before you leave the house, and keep it at a very minimal maintanence. An outfit isn't worth it if you have to worry whether the back of your jeans are too short or if you are scared it might be too see through. What you buy should make you comfortable, or its not worth it. So put your outfit together and forget about it for the rest of the day, and have fun!

Skin Facial Cleansers
Using the right cleanser makes all the difference because it determines how your skin is going to react to everything else you put on it. You'll want to avoid drying your face out because it causes problems a moisturizer can't correct. If you've been using a cold cream - something that is wiped off, this will clogg your pores and leave a film on the skin. That can interfere with the moisturizer you use then. If you've read information on toners, you'll realize that if you have a greasy face, you won't want to degrease it with harsh cleansers and toners either. The best way to choose a facial wash is to use a gentle, water-soluble cleaner that is for normal to oily (that includes combination skin if you tend to have more oil in some areas), or normal to dry (that includes combination skin if you have a tendency to have dry spots).
This type of cleanser does three things: (1) it washes off makeup without drying the face, (2) it contains no synthetic irritants such as synthetic fragrance, (3) it is gentle to the skin and doesn't require a washcloth to wipe off, you can splash it off, although some may still prefer a soft cotton cloth.
Not only are water-soluble cleansers the gentlest way to clean your face, but they are also the most efficient. What about Eye Makeup Remover? Many wonder if it is needed? I do believe it is necessary. Stretching the skin to remove mascara and shadow can stretch the skin's elastic fibers, and cause the skin to sag sooner than you'd like. So we definately recommend using one. See our Information Library for articles on skin conditions.
Moisturizing creams for aging skin
With moisturizing creams, a gentle upward and outward massage should be employed to stimulate circulation of the blood, which will, in turn, nourish the skin. A gentle massage will also stimulate and strengthen the underlying muscle fiber which will help maintain the elasticity of the skin. However, do not massage too deeply; a gentle but firm motion is adequate for an aging skin which will no longer benefit from a strong massage.
After you have worked the cream well into your skin, spray some mineral water or rose water (keep it in an old, well-scrubbed Windex bottle) lightly over the face. It will help the cream penetrate and hydrate your thirsty skin at the same time.

Simple and Powerful Diet Tips
In a perfect world, the only thing that you would need to do to reach your fitness goals would be work out occasionally. Unfortunately, the only way to truly get the body and level of health that you want is through the combination of diet and exercise.
The dieting right is the number one obstacle people face while trying to get fit, however filling your plate with healthy food doesn’t have to be a miserable experience.
Here are the best strategies I have found to keep people in shape.
Give Yourself Some Flexibility - If you box yourself into too strict of a diet, you are setting yourself up for failure. It’s true that that for most people if you want to lose weight, it is going to have to involve cutting back a bit on how much you eat, but if you allow yourself nothing but rice cakes and unbuttered wheat toast, you turn yourself into a ticking time bomb that will go off onto the nearest piece of cheesecake. Expect that you are going to indulge a little every now and then, and accept it.
Make Your Foods Easy to Make- I’ve discovered that most people eat junk food because it’s just so darn convenient. Microwaveable pizzas take three minutes to make, and there is a fast food joint on every corner who can give you a greasy pre heated burger in a matter of seconds. The only real way to counteract this is by making your healthy food just as convenient as unhealthy food.
For example, you might keep some whole grain tortillas in your cupboard so that you can make a quick and easy burrito with lean chicken or beans. You might also keep some frozen vegetables in your freezer, because they can be heated fairly quickly and be ready to eat. You may also consider buying lots of canned soups, because they take little time to prepare and are often very low in calories.
Find Ways to Combat Stress - Whenever someone has a relapse in their diet, it is usually during a particularly stressful time in their life. Maybe dealing with a toddler has kept them awake for much of a few nights or their new job is giving them a lot to worry about. This is when people start binging on French fries and ice cream. But if you want to conserve your waistline, you need to find other ways to combat stress.
To best way to deal with this by recognizing times when you might be getting stressed and react too it. If you find the pressure building up, find some time for yourself to do something that you really enjoy. Just half an hour of “me time” can make your diet go along a lot more smoothly.
Cut Out the Liquid Calories - If has calories and comes in a liquid form, try to limit your intake of it. The reason is that stuff like soda, alcohol, and milk can add a bunch of calories to you daily diet, but they never make you feel full. So you feel hungry even as you consume far more calories than you need. Focus mostly on whole foods and use tea or water to satisfy your thirst.
Don't Be Fooled By Marketing, Check For The Natural Seal!
With the demand for "natural" beauty products on the rise – such as lotions, balms and shampoos.
The manufactures are responding with a host of new beauty products, all labeled "natural".
The only problem is that some are natural and some are not.
So, how's a shopper to know if they're buying a "natural" product or not?
Until now, we had no way of knowing whether or not a product was truly "natural" (since there was no standard definition of the term used by the industry.)
Well, that's no longer the case.
To end this confusion and help consumers, the Natural Products Association just unveiled a new certification program that defines natural and includes an easily-identified seal. (See image)
You can expect the seal to begin appearing on certified natural beauty care products such as Burt’s Bees, Weleda, Aubrey Organics, Badger Balm, Farmaesthetics, and Trilogy Fragrances this summer.
These companies have volunteered (this is not a requirement by any federal agency), to join in with the Natural Products Association (the largest non-profit company in this arena) - because they got fed up with seeing other companies call their lines “natural” when they were anything but.
Actually, much of what we see on the shelves that says "natural", contains NOTHING natural…
The seal will help take the guesswork out of smart buying and educate consumers on what products are truly natural.
Products must follow strict guidelines set out by the Natural Products Association to merit bearing the natural seal.
The criteria includes, but are not limited to:
– 95% truly natural ingredients
– No ingredients with any potential suspected human health risks
– No processes that significantly or adversely alter the purity/effect of the natural ingredients
– Ingredients that come from a purposeful, renewable/plentiful source found in nature (flora, fauna, mineral)
– Processes that are minimal and don't use synthetic/harsh chemicals or otherwise dilute purity
– Unnatural ingredients only when viable natural alternative ingredients are unavailable and only when there are absolutely no suspected potential human health risks
So, don't be fooled when buying "natural" products, start checking for the natural seal this summer.

Beat the Bloat
It is possible to be gas-free when eating healthy foods. There are three tricks to banning the bloat: 1) Keep a fiber log, 2) use over-the counter remedies right and 3) eat slowly.
Most Americans eat 12 grams of fiber each day. When you go on a health kick and rapidly increase your fiber intake, the change can be too abrupt for your body — fiber is difficult for the body to process, so when you suddenly start eating a lot of it, bacteria in your gut goes into overdrive to aid the digestion process, and produces gas. Because it takes your body time to get used to healthy, high-fiber foods, you have to add fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains gradually. A good way to do this is to keep a food log on a typical day and count up how many fiber grams you normally eat. Then slowly increase your fiber by 1 to 2 grams every day or two until you hit 30 grams or more each day. To find the number of fiber grams in certain foods, look for “total fiber” amounts on food labels, and use websites such as calorieking.com. Once you’ve hit 30 grams, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water (at least nine 8-ounce servings daily), so that the fiber can pass smoothly through your digestive tract. Also, try to spread the 30 grams evenly throughout the day so your body has time to digest a small amount at a time. For example, you might eat 10 grams at breakfast, 10 at lunch and 10 at dinner.
In addition to upping your fiber intake slowly, using over-the-counter enzymes (such as Beano) in pill or liquid drop form can work wonders — they help us break down and digest foods, which reduces gas and bloating. The trick is to take enzymes at the right time and in the right amount: They must be taken right before your first bite of food (if you take enzymes later in your meal, they won’t have enough time to work). For every half-cup of gas-forming food you need one pill or five drops; so, for most meals, you have to use two to three pills or 10 to 15 drops.
Another very important and often-overlooked way to reduce gas and bloating is to eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. Chewing is actually the first step in the digestion process. If you don’t slow down and chew well, large pieces of swallowed food are more difficult for your stomach enzymes to break down, which can lead to feelings of bloating and gas. Take 15 to 30 minutes to eat meals and chew your food well, until it has an applesauce-like texture in your mouth.
If you keep a fiber log, use over-the counter remedies correctly and chew well, you will be able to tolerate and enjoy a healthy diet with much less bloating, gas and uncomfortable distention. But if you follow this advice and still have trouble with gas, talk to your doctor and consider seeing a registered dietitian to review your diet. You can find one in your area at eatright.org.
Cross-Training for Beauty Fitness
Cross-training is the act of doing a variety of activities in order to condition the body. I highly recommend it to everyone!
"Cross-training" is currently a big buzzword in the wellness world because some high-profile athletes are reaping its rewards, from tennis star Maria Sharapova (she practices yoga in addition to the hours she spends on the court), to Olympian Sasha Cohen, who credits her one-on-one Pilates training for creating an "injury-proof" skating physique. I recently spent a weekend in Lake Placid, New York, home to an Olympic Training Center. One thing I noticed is how much the athletes cross-train. The crew team goes running, the figure skaters take ballet, the downhill skiers train in the weight room — all excellent examples of cross-training. They're no dummies: Cross-training does a body good! Studies show that the mind and body stay fresh and responsive with variety in movement.
Many people think they are in great shape, but because they focus solely on one activity, whether it's running or cross-country skiing, they may be fooling themselves. In fact, they might be setting themselves up for physical injury: When the body does just one type of activity, the physical challenge tends to wane over time and the lack of variety in movement creates muscular imbalances that make it easier to get hurt.
By combining walking and strength training, you are already tapping into the powers of cross-training, but you can definitely take it a few steps further. First, try varying the duration and intensity of your cardio workout. A simple example of duration variance might be something like this: On Monday, walk around the track for 30 minutes, then on Wednesday make it 60 minutes. As for intensity, try an uphill hike one day, and then return to a steady-paced walk around the track the next.
The second thing you can do to enhance your cross-training is to think outside the box about strength training. It doesn't always have to be traditional lifting (using free weights or Nautilus equipment) — it could include other strengthening techniques like Power Yoga or mat-based Pilates. And when you do use those free weights, try varying the routine by targeting the lower body one day and the upper body the next, and maybe training the entire body in one long strength-training workout once a week. The sequence of exercises, the number of repetitions and the pace at which the reps are performed should be dynamic. As with changing up the cardio, this will challenge both your body and mind, and keep things exciting.
The third thing you can do to enhance your fitness routine with cross-training is to take up a new sport. Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, horseback riding, surfing ... pick something that interests you and go for it! Even if the activity is "lite," like golf or cricket, the hand–eye coordination, balance and body-awareness practice are all valuable pieces of the fitness puzzle. Last winter, I took up paddle tennis and had a ton of fun — plus, it spiced up my fitness routine.
Cross-training keeps your workouts fresh, which is key to keeping up your fitness mojo.

Bathing Suit Tips for Body Flattering Swimwear for Women and Teen Girls
Every year, it happens. Bathing suit weather arrives, and with it, sales on swimwear (or for some, suntan wear.) The good news is, the variety has never been greater. The bad news, the variety and decisions have never been greater.
Decisions, decisions. Now it seems there is a bathing suit for every type of woman or situation as there are mastectomy suits, maternity swimsuits, plus-size swimwear, suits for tall or petite women. And then the real decisions start.
Do I want a one piece, two piece bathing suit, bikini, or tankini. Should it be slimming, help camouflage (you know) with an underwire, or be one of those what they call miracle suits. Should I be bold and go with something hot, sheer, sexy, exotic as in something skimpy like a thong or brazilian g string. Do I splurge and look for a brand name designer like Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria Secret, Anne cole, or sporty with Nike or Lands End. Or do I do as I always do and look on the discount rack or wait for my bathing suit pick to go on sale. And lets not forget color, black, white, floral or florescent. Decisions decisions.
What womens swimsuit fashion is best and most flattering for your body type
Apple shaped body frames have broader shoulders and smaller hips. Two-piece bikinis or tankinis with a solid color top and a patterned bottom will give you a more balance appearance.Pear shaped body types have larger hips and smaller shoulders with a waist that is larger than the shoulders. One-piece bathing suits with tummy control or other design feature that create the illusion of a waist line will be the most flattering.
Small Bust - To enhance a smaller bust try a halter bikini top that has a seam just under the bust line or a lightly padded or line top. Swim wear with texture can also help detract attention away from your bust line if you feel self-conscious.
Fuller Bottom - Skirted swim suits are back in style and can be found in many different patterns and styles. The skirt flatters a fuller bottomed body type and will give you a more balance look. You may also want to try on a few boy short styles as well. Both of these options offer a little more coverage on the bottom.
Slender, athletic bodies have shoulders, waist and hips that are the similar in width. One-piece or two-piece suits with detailing around the waist will help create a more hourglass shape. Try a wrap style top or a belted bathing suit bottom to create more waist definition.
Hourglass figures have balance shoulders and hips with a smaller waist. If this is you, you're lucky because just about any classic styled bathing suit should flatter your figure.
Buying a swimsuit is about perception
Buying a swimsuit has a lot to do with beauty because it’s more about perceptions than it is actual good looks. The fact is, with the right attitude, nearly any woman’s swim suit will look good to men, provided there’s a woman in it. Other women are much pickier about what suit looks good on what body, and the worst critic of all is that chick in the mirror. I have a few beauty tips about bathing suits and bikinis, which I will pass on to you in the hopes that they will inspire confidence. Some of them are just theoretical for me, and others I use whenever I shop for a suit. Use what works for you.How much are you willing to spend for designer swimwear?
Like good shoes, good bathing suits cost money. You’re paying for design here, and for things like built-in controls or enhancements. Thanks to the fairly recent craze for selling binkini tops and bottoms separately, retailers have found they can charge a lot more for a whole suit than they could five or six years ago when bottoms and tops were inseparable. On average, a decent suit will cost you around $60. On the other hand, if you have a great body, it doesn’t matter if your suit is cheap because you don’t have anything to hide. Just make sure you buy something that won’t come apart when it hits the water. When to buy a cheap swimsuit.
If you’re only going to wear a bathing suit the three days you go to the beach each year, or for sunning in the back yard, you can go cheaper too. In fact, there’s no reason not to wear a pair of shorts and a bathing suit top or even a camisole or tank top. It’s crazy to spend a lot of money for a suit you aren’t going to wear. One piece or two piece bathing suit? Who will be looking or who do you want looking?
A shy friend of mine went to Mexico, and because she was very modest and didn’t feel very pretty, she wore a pair of men’s trunks and a bikini top in the pool at the hotel. A Mexican fellow who frequented the pool told her that if she wanted to blend in, she’d better drop the trunks and wear bikini bottoms. She did, and they went dancing several times after that. She came home with a golden tan and a happy expression.Comfort is important, and depending on the beach or pool scene, either no-one will notice you at all, or everyone will be watching everyone else. If it matters to you, or if your boyfriend’s ex is going to be at the party, fork out the big money and look great, even if you only wear that suit that one day.
How much coverage do you want from your beach wear?
Crucial to the question of bathing suits is coverage. Again, the nicer your body, the less coverage you need, unless you’re shy or you’re smart and want to save your skin from sun damage. You can apply sunscreen and sunless tanner and have a beautiful glowing tan without the sun exposure. Just be sure to evenly distrubute and don't over apply the self tanner and end up looking a shade or orange. If you plan to be swimming or playing volleyball or surfing, you may want more coverage because a suit that covers more of you also tends to hang on, where flimsier, actually make that skimpier, things might fall off or out. With board shorts, boyshorts and hipster bikinis, we can buy suits that fit even in the middle of a plus size day or PMS fat attack. A well-cut one-piece can hide and camoflauge an assortment of figure flaws. Contrary to what some experts will tell you, large floral designs do not minimize a heavy body, and you don’t have to wear black either. Depending on where the chubbiness lies, a smaller-coverage suit may turn out to be more flattering than the high-coverage suit you didn’t want to buy anyway. No one can possibly see all the lumps and bumps as the girl in the bathing suit in the mirror does, so pick the least worst suit you can find, and get out there and play!
How To Makeup Japanese Eyes
The oriental look has changed significantly over the years. While some Japanese girls have mimicked western styles, others have gone the opposite direction, preserving the oriental mystique.
Eyes are a prominent feature on a face and getting them right is vital.
Before application of any eye make up, you have to make sure eyelashes are curled, which prevents make up from smudging as well as reducing the chances of them breaking. An eyelash comb can be helpful.
Black mascara, as well as eyeliner, helps to enhance the almond features most oriental girls have. Mascara, liberally applied to both the upper and the lower lashes, makes the eyes stand out. Apply extra coats on the outer lashes to make them even more prominent.
This radiates a sense of sophistication with a breeze of modern day life.
Liquid eyeliner should only be used if one is going for a bold, more dramatic look. Apply it carefully to both uper and lower lids, with the line extended slightly beyond the outer corner. The line is slanted upward at the outer corner and slightly downward at the inner corner to create almond-shaped eyes.
When applying more than one color of eye shadow, you should start with the darker color closer to the lash line and work away from it.
If you have smaller eyes, brown or gray eyeliner would make them look bigger and black eye liner, as well as other darker colors, make eyes look smaller.
Contrasting your eye color to eye shadow helps bring out the color in the eyes and matching the colors will drown them out, so not a good idea.
As a general rule, it’s worth bearing in mind that less is sometimes more.
For night time look a mixture of a dark light and medium colored eye shadow in graduated tones makes you look more radiant.
To add definition to Asian eyes, you could add a medium tone across the lid and brow bone.
Dusting under the brow with a lighter tone will further highlight the eyes, then use a pencil to highlight the lower and upper lash lines.
Eyebrow color should always be darker than the lid color, it shouldn’t be a different color altogether but just a slightly different shade.
Do not create hard edges, color should gradually move from one color and just flow into another without prominent differences.
Greasy products, although very nice to look at, should be avoided, as they tend to smudge more easily, so on a practical level not very workable.
Although eyes are a very prominent feature, a good foundation is very important.
For most Japanese girls, a yellow based foundation will be a good starting point in getting the overall make up right.
Going for a darker or too light a foundation will create a mask like effect.
In choosing a foundation, it is important that you use the face to test for color because skin texture on your hand and face could be different to that on your face.
Handy hint : Apply make up after you are already dressed, otherwise you run the risk of smudging some of your handy work.
When Is My First Period Coming?
Since you first heard the word "period," you've probably been wondering what it is and when you'd get your first period. Although most girls get their first period between 11-14 years old, you could start your period anywhere from 8-17 years old.
You could narrow that down by taking clues from your body. During puberty, when your body becomes sexually mature, you'll have some of these changes that show your period's on its way. (By the way, these changes may happen in a different order than listed here.)
Developing Breasts. First, you'll get breast "buds". (Your breasts then can take up to 3-4 years to fully develop.) Generally you will get your period 2-3 years after your breasts start developing.
Growing Pubic Hair. Right after your breasts start to form, you'll start developing pubic hair. It will be soft and thin at first, then gradually become coarser. Your period usually arrives around 1-2 years after the hair development.
Discharge. This is the big sign. You'll start to experience vaginal discharge that will be either white or yellowish. If you like, you may want to start using Alldays Pantiliners to protect you underwear. You period should start around 6-12 (but up to 18) months after the start of discharge.
There's one more way to figure out when you'll start menstruating: Ask your mom. You'll probably get your period within a year or so of when she got hers.
Since you'll only have a general idea of when you'll get your period, you might want to do some planning.
Most girls will use pads at least for their first period. Your first period will probably be fairly light so Always Thin Maxi Regular or Always Thin Ultra Regular would be a good choice of pad. If you are physically small, you may want to consider Always Thin Ultra Slender. It's a good idea to keep a pad or two hidden in your locker at school, and carry another in your backpack. This way you won't be caught off guard when it does happen.
Relax, you will get your period, and you'll have them for a long time!
Menstrual Period - How to Deal with Periods
Women shouldn't "curse" their periods, they should celebrate them! Why? Because they are a positive sign of health - and not just gynecological health but of general health.
Getting your period is a minor miracle of biology. It means that your pituitary gland (in the brain) must send chemical messengers to your ovaries at the right time, and when your ovaries get the message they must produce their hormones on schedule. In order to make and store the hormones, you must have a critical level of cholesterol and of body fat. So, if you get a period, you know that some important things are right with your body.
Periods are not only a sign of gynecological health; they tell you that you are producing adequate amounts of the very important hormone, estrogen. Hundreds of cellular functions throughout the body are affected by estrogen. When estrogen levels are too low, women may get menopause-like symptoms: hot flashes, urinary frequency, and vaginal dryness. More importantly, young women, who are in the bone building phase of their lives, need estrogen and other elements for this to occur. If estrogen levels stay too low for months or years, you may begin to LOSE bone, particularly in your hips and spine. Estrogen also has many protective effects in arteries and skin and there is growing evidence of benefits to the brain.
Periods also tell you that you are probably producing enough androgens, including testosterone (which is often thought of as a male hormone but is normally produced in females too). Too little testosterone can negatively affect bone, muscle strength, and sex drive and response.
When you first start menstruating you may have an irregular menstrual pattern. This is normal. It may take as long as two years before it regulates. You may wonder why a woman, who already has a regular cycle, might experience menstrual irregularity, or why she might stop menstruating altogether. The most common reason for cessation of periods is pregnancy. But if this is not the situation, there are many other conditions that may be to blame. Some common causes are anorexia or even prolonged, intense dieting and/or very intense exercising. As mentioned above, women need a certain amount of body fat for adequate hormone levels; being ultra lean can create medical problems for women. Other causes of lack of periods, such as thyroid or pituitary irregularities, require investigation by a doctor.
We don't want to alarm women whose periods are irregular or who skip a period altogether now and then. You should probably consult a doctor if you normally menstruate every month and find that you have missed two periods in a row. Most likely you will be told that everything is okay. It may turn out that you are having a cycle in which no egg was released and your doctor may suggest taking progesterone (another female hormone) for 12 days to induce a flow. If no progesterone is taken, your next period could be very heavy.
Last but not least, remember that your period is one aspect of being a female, something we hope you can celebrate even more often than once a month.

Women VS Men :10 Differences that make difference
When it comes to health, there are many crucial health differences between men and women. Yet many women do not know that they react differently to some medications, are more vulnerable to some diseases, and may have different symptoms. The Society for Women’s Health Research brought attention to sex differences in initiating the groundbreaking 2001 Institute of Medicine report, Exploring the Biological Contribution to Human Health: Does Sex Matter? The report underscored the need to better understand the importance of sex differences and translate that knowledge into improved medical practice and therapies.
Following are some quick but vital facts about sex differences in health care that you probably did not know.
Heart Disease – Heart disease kills 500,000 American women each year – over 50,000 more women than men – and strikes women, on average, 10 years later than men. Women are more likely than men to have a second heart attack within a year of the first one.
Depression – Women are two-to-three times more likely than men to suffer from depression in part because women’s brains make less of the hormone serotonin.
Osteoporosis – Women comprise 80 percent of the population suffering from osteoporosis, which is attributable to a higher rate of lost bone mass.
Smoking – Smoking has a more negative effect on cardiovascular health in women than men. Women are also less successful quitting smoking and have more severe withdrawal symptoms.
STDs – Women are two times more likely than men to contract a sexually transmitted disease, and more likely to experience significant drops in body weight, which can lead to wasting syndrome.
Anesthesia – Women tend to wake up from anesthesia more quickly than men – an average of seven minutes for women and 11 minutes for men.
Drug reactions – Even common drugs like antihistamines and antibiotic drugs can cause different reactions and side effects in women and men.
Autoimmune Disease – Three out of four people suffering from autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus, are women.
Alcohol – Women produce less of the gastric enzyme that breaks down ethanol in the stomach. Therefore, after consuming the same amount of alcohol, women have higher blood alcohol content than men, even allowing for size differences.
Pain – Some pain medications (known as kappa-opiates) are far more effective in relieving pain in women than in men.
5 Food Myths
1. A high protein diet is the best weight loss diet!Consuming too much protein, whether from foods, proteins supplements or powders can make you dehydrated. They also put a major load on your kidneys: your body can not store excess protein so it has to be broken down, the excess like everything else is stored as fat. Your kidneys need more water to eliminate the extra nitrogen from the body which inadvertently dehydrates you.
2. Carbohydrates are fattening!Carbohydrates are only 4 kcal/gm. Fats are 9 kcal/gm. That makes carbohydrates a low calorie source of energy. What you decide to put on your choice of carbohydrate makes it fattening. A baked potato is a low fat food until you add butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon bits- now it is a high calorie, high fat food. So limit your fats and fuel up on complex carbohydrate rich foods - they will fuel you to be more active!
3. Red meat is bad for heart health because it increases cholesterol. We need approximately 300 mg of dietary cholesterol each day. A small serving of lean, red meat can easily fit within that cholesterol limit and is preferable to the egg based vegetarian meals such as quiches and omelets that contain far more cholesterol. Small portions (3-5 oz) of lean meats such as spaghetti and lean meat sauce, stir fried sirloin strips with veggies, or thinly layered roast beef sandwich, provide not only protein, but also iron and zinc, two important minerals for optimal health and performance.
4. Skipping meals will help me lose weight.Often, skipping meals during the day will leave you feeling ravenous by the time you get home, and healthy food choices go right out the window! The best way to lose weight healthily is to keep up with your training program, eat nutritious, lower fat (less than 30% of total calories), complex carbohydrate meals during the day, pay attention to adequate post workout nutrition and keep hydrated throughout the day.
5. I should not eat at least two hours before I exercise. Can you exercise on an empty stomach? Some of us can and others can't. Individual preference is a key player in the food/exercise combo. If you are one of those frequent feeders that has to eat something right before you exercise, that's okay. Just follow these guidelines: choose something rich in complex carbohydrate, low in fat and protein, and preferably liquid if it is within the hour before exercising. Stick to your own tried and true favorites.
Accept Your Body and Learn to Have a Positive Self Image.
Because thin females and muscular males are seen as the ideal in our society and because we have come to believe that body size and shape are totally under a person's control, most people enter diet and exercise programs with unrealistic goals and expectations. If you continually strive to achieve a socially imposed ideal, you will never be free of your insecurities or your self-consciousness. You must truly realize and then learn to accept that we are not all meant to be fashion-model size.
Our body size and structure reflects not only our eating and exercise habits but also our genetics. The role this latter factor plays in determining weight seems to vary greatly between individuals. We are all born with a certain body type inherited from our parents. Although hardly anyone is a pure body type, there are three different applicable categories: ectomorphs, mesomorphs, and endomorphs.Characteristically, ectomorphs have a light build with slight muscular development. They are usually tall and thin with small frames and narrow hips and shoulders.Mesomorphs have a husky, muscular build. They often have broad shoulders, and their weight is concentrated in the upper body, making them look compact or stocky.Endomorphs are characterized by a heavy, rounded build with shoulders usually narrower than their hips. They have a round, soft appearance and are more often overweight or obese.
When we understand and appreciate our bodies, we are able to work with them, not against them. Although many of us are a combination of two body types, we cannot become what we are not. However, everyone can improve their appearance and their health and performance levels by implementing the principles of a safe and effective eating and exercise program.Even if you have a genetic predisposition to being overweight, the way you live is what ultimately determines whether you become fat. Genes clearly play a role, but they certainly don't determine what you're going to have for dinner or how often you exercise. Chances are if you're living an unhealthy lifestyle, you'll become fat and unhealthy. All of us can't be thin. But every single one of us can be healthy. By focusing on what you're eating and how much you're exercising, you'll be able to achieve optimum health and fitness, even though you may not achieve society's ideal of thinness. Accepting yourself does not mean that you're hopeless and that it's okay to do nothing. It means that you feel good and care about yourself, and that you want to be the very best you can be, regardless of your genetics, regardless of society's standards.
To achieve this level of optimum wellness, you must have a positive self image. This means that your feelings about your body are not influenced by events in your daily life. For many people, life's problems are projected onto their body. "If only I were thinner--or more muscular, I would have made the team, gotten the job, been chosen. . . . If only I were thinner--or more muscular, I could meet more people, find the right guy/girl, be happy." This self-defeating habit is reinforced by the images we see in advertising; your body becomes an easy target for everything wrong in your life. When you have a positive self-image, you value and respect your body; you are also more likely to feel good about living a healthy lifestyle.
No matter how much genetics predetermines how you store and lose fat, the body you've been given will still respond positively to being appreciated and treated well. Focusing on fun physical activity and eating healthy foods will help you feel good whatever your size. Developing a healthy, positive image of yourself is the first critical factor in your fitness success. Having a strong sense of self-worth provides the basis for making rational and affirming decisions about your health. Good luck, stay positive, and enjoy all the wonderful benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle

12 Beauty and Fashion Essentials for 2008 Color
Starting with a clean slate like the quintessential Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress that any body type can wear, let's add a bit of panache to this lovely but mundane dress with color. Bright teals, blues, hot pinks, emerald greens, oranges, and purples have been fashion forward in 2007 and will continue their journey in 2008. The Michael Kors tote would add the needed personality to this look. Accenting any part of your basic wardrobe with a vivid color will put you on the cutting edge of fashion.
Although discovering your personal color vocabulary is one avenue to explore, all colors will morph you into a fashionista. When I discovered what colors complemented my hair and eyes the best, I got stuck in a color rut. I deafened my friends for longer than I want to admit with a stuttering symphony of vibrant pinks and blues. The naked truth is that any lively color will add that little extra je ne sais quoi. If your hair is your best asset, wear a colorful sweater or scarf. If your svelte waist is your best asset, wear a vivid belt. Just remember that color draws attention to you, so put it near your best feature. While you are shopping the after-Christmas sales look for colorful accessories that add something exciting to your existing wardrobe. By adding a pop of color in your choice to this Diane von Furstenberg black dress defines your style personality. It is what I call classic with a twist. (As an aside, I love Diane's designs. They work for skinny minnies like me and weight-challenged women, too.),Choosing either shoes like the BCBGirls pink sandal , the Imooi punch necklace from 2Modern, or the Bergdorf Goodman Carlos Falchi fuchsia matte croc clutch adds the needed punch of color to this wardrobe staple.
This delightful Tory Burch tangerine ballerina flat is all the color that is required to jazz up the otherwise routine everyday straight leg jeans.
Rings, earrings, hats, and glasses in bright colors are also a perfect accent to an otherwise clean black slate, BUT don't go color crazy and make others hyperventilate when you walk into the room. One or two small pieces or one large piece in a bright color is all you need. Once you've incorporated color in small amounts, you can try adding accent pieces like jackets and sweaters.
Have a little fun with color in 2008 and define your own style and spirit. It may be all you need to fend off the winter blues.
10-tricks-to-help-you-get-your-beauty
"Scans of metabolic activity in the brain show that people who suffer frominsomnia have more activity than people without sleep problems when they'retrying to get to sleep."
So how do we girls and women calm our brains so that we can get the seven to nine hours of beauty sleep?
If you're prone to worrying, your body produces epinephrine, which helps to keep you awake. Try to replace your worries with a pleasant thought. I have a happy place that I always go to in times of stress: With the warm sun stroking my back, I am sitting on a beach chair while the waves kiss my toes. I have had my blood pressure taken before and after my trip to the "happy place" and it truly does reduce my blood pressure numbers.
Another trick that always helps me is a warm bath an hour before bed, indulging my skin in an after-shower cream-fest, and slipping into a pair of lightweight PJs.
You should try to get 30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity each day. Studies have shown that 30 minutes of brisk walking can improve sleep about as well as the pre-Ambien sleeping pills.
Make your bedroom as dark as possible -- turn off the television, laptop, and cover the alarm clock. Light keeps your brain chronically aroused. If you sleep with a television addict like I do, this can be difficult. Around midnight, I end up sleep-walking to the guest bedroom for the rest of my beauty sleep.
Reduce your caffeine intake. Eliminating caffeine can really help your body and brain relax. Because caffeine stays in your body up to eight hours, try to eliminate your last dose before noon.
Reduce your alcohol intake. The nightcap will lull you into thinking it is helping you get your beauty sleep, but about four hours after it clears your system, the brain becomes hyperaroused and wakes you up. This is your brain on ugly sleep.
Reset your body clock. You need 20 minutes of bright light within 15 minutes of awakening in order for your melatonin levels to drop. Your melatonin will continue to be suppressed for about 12 hours and then start to rise. Approximately 16 hours later, you are ready for your beauty sleep. I use a light box which not only helps with ugly sleep but also with seasonal affective disorder.
Sleeping pills are good for a short-term problem. Ambien, Lunesta, and Sonata bind with receptors in the brain that trigger sleep. The National Institutes of Health found that sleep induced by a sleeping pill was only increased by 11.4 minutes. At $3 to $4 a pop. that is an expensive 11 minutes. I have used Ambien in the past and it helped me get through a menopausal sleeping problem.
Cognitive behavioral therapy. Participants learn that it is normal to awaken every 90 minutes or so. Knowing that you are normal, reduces the worry, hence, the production of epinephrine.
Restricting your sleep. This is for the woman who lies in bed for eight hours and sleeps five. Calculate how much time you are actually sleeping. If you only sleep five hours, stay in bed for four hours. Gradually add an additional 15 minutes that you spend in bed each night. You will be so sleep-deprived that your need for sleep will become stronger and stronger.
Reduce wrinkles
The dermatologist-office options—from Botox to peels to laser—are not your only line of defense. The combination of these at-home measures is remarkably powerful; you'll definitely see results.
Retinoids. Both prescription (stronger) and OTC versions are proven to improve wrinkles: "They really work," says L.A./New York dermatologist Karyn Grossman. "They smooth skin by increasing cell turnover and collagen production." The key is to stick with the program: It takes at least six weeks to see the effects on your skin.
Peptides also smooth skin and spur collagen growth—and they can be used in conjunction with retinol for more powerful results, says New York dermatologist Patricia Wexler: "They're great together, used at night."
Antioxidants help protect skin from free radicals during the day. "Many sunscreens are already packed with them—or you can layer them underneath," says Grossman. Antioxidants also repair skin as you sleep, though some—like vitamin C—can be irritating if used at the same time as retinol.
Sunscreen. The sun is the quickest ager there is. "At the bare minimum, you need SPF in the morning under makeup," Grossman says. "Ideally, you should reapply every two hours—you can use sunscreen or high-SPF foundation."
Sleep on your back (you're essentially ironing in wrinkles by crushing your face into a pillow), and don't smoke (it induces major wrinkling and deprives your skin of oxygen).
These days the market is flooded with anti-aging products from serums to sprays to pills, so it can be a daunting task to figure out which treatments
To see two more ways to start preventing the early signs of aging, read more.
Exfoliate If you aren't exfoliating, you're not putting your best face forward. Removing the superficial layer of dead skin cells from your face can help with everything from acne to fine lines. A highly effective choice is an at-home microdermabrasion treatment done once a week.

What is it about the m-word that freaks people out so much? in many cultures, masturbation is considered “dirty.” yet over half of all girls and women have done it—most for the first time before age 18. You’re not weird if you don’t — it’s a personal choice — but if you do, it’s completely natural. Plus, it’s the safest kind of sex possible. that’s because you’re having a one-on-one session with your real best friend — yourself! nevertheless, myths about masturbation persist. Here’s the truth.
MYTH: Girls don’t masturbate—only boys do! TRUTH: It’s true that society says it’s okay for guys but not girls to touch and explore their private parts. That’s why over 80 percent of guys feel free to “spank the monkey” while only 60 percent of girls do. Some girls think they shouldn’t try and so they suppress the urge, or feel guilty about it if they do. Whether or not you masturbate depends on your own beliefs, but every girl has the same right as a guy to explore her body in a safe way — and feel no shame!
MYTH: Only people who “can’t get any” or are desperate masturbate. TRUTH: Absolutely not! Masturbation has nothing to do with whether you have a sex partner. When you masturbate, you learn about yourself and what gives you pleasure. That’s a good thing. And here’s something that may surprise you: studies report that people in relationships masturbate more often than single people do — so the desire to touch yourself doesn’t make you a loser.
MYTH: Masturbation causes blindness (or acne, hair loss, chronic fatigue, hairy palms, infertility, or cancer). TRUTH: None of these things are true. If they were, we’d live in one pimply, tired, hairy-palmed, and infertile society! In fact, doctors say masturbation has medical benefits. It can relieve stress, insomnia, headaches, PMS, and menstrual cramps. During masturbation (and orgasm), your brain releases endorphins — chemicals that ease pain, elevate your mood, and make you feel better.
MYTH: Masturbation causes STDsTRUTH: Masturbation does not cause STDs. Only skin-to-skin contact or a transmission of bodily fluids from an infected partner can spread an STD. In 1994, when teen STD rates were on the rise, the then–surgeon general, Joycelyn Elders, recommended that schools teach masturbation as a way to prevent STDs. She was forced to resign! Too bad people didn’t listen — because today, 1 in 4 teens who are sexually active (oral sex counts!) has an STD.

1911: The Boy Scout Handbook told boys that they were likely to end up in an insane asylum if they ever masturbated.

Common migraine (migraine without aura)
Classic migraine (migraine with aura)
ไวต่อแสง (sensitivity to light)
